The Water Pollution Control Facility is responsible for protecting public health and the environment. By receiving water from homes and businesses it is then stringently treated to remove pollutants before being safely discharged back to the river. The water quality has to meet strict requirement set forth by IDEM and the US EPA. The Water Pollution Control Facility also has the responsibility of maintaining 20 different Lift Stations that conveys the wastewater to the facility for treatment. The facility has the capacity to treat 11 MGD with a daily flow of 1.2 – 2.5 MGD. All facility process equipment and lift stations are monitored by our SCADA system 24 hours a day.
